The Konnaiyar Selliamman project is a dedicated web platform designed to bring a revered community temple into the digital space. Featuring culturally aligned aesthetics, intuitive navigation, event schedules, and essential visitor information, the design focuses on clarity, accessibility, and community connection.

My Approach Designing for a cultural institution requires deep empathy and respect. My approach focused on balancing a modern, structured UI with traditional design sensibilities. I ensured that the digital experience feels welcoming, serene, and incredibly easy to navigate for devotees of all age groups.

Vision and Innovation The vision was to create a digital home for the temple community that feels timeless yet highly functional. Innovation here meant prioritizing true accessibility—ensuring that essential information like pooja timings, festival schedules, and temple history could be accessed smoothly on any device, especially mobile.

Identifying Unique Challenges Temple websites often struggle with cluttered layouts or outdated information. Furthermore, the user base spans a wide demographic, including elderly users who may not be highly tech-savvy. I solved this by implementing a highly readable typographic hierarchy, clear contrast, and a straightforward navigation structure free of overwhelming interactions.

Resolving Complex Problems Managing community updates and festival details requires a scalable information architecture. I structured the site so that dynamic content like event dates and announcements are separated from static history, ensuring that the layout adapts perfectly across devices and crucial details are never lost on smaller screens.

User-Centric Design The platform is built around how devotees actually seek information. Visitors can quickly find visiting hours, read about the temple's rich heritage, or explore the image gallery without friction.
